This is a question that Pampered Pupz of St. Johns sometimes gets asked during intake phone calls. In much the same way as teeth brushing, we feel that this is a procedure that is better performed by a vet. The vet is going to do a much more thorough evacuation of the anal glands than what a groomer would be able to perform. We also have to think about the safety of our clients’ pups as well. If there are issues or infections, these are not always going to be easy to notice or properly diagnose by a groomer. This is why we will not perform this service for our clients.
