Pampered Pupz of St. Johns feels that customer service is essential to the success of every business. When we interviewed applicants for our groomer position, one of the questions asked was, “How do you handle someone who is not happy with your work?” Many responses were about giving the customer a discount. This seems like an easy option when it’s not actually your own money that you are discounting. One person told me that the salon were they currently worked would have told the customer that they can go somewhere else if they don’t like it. The truism here is that the customer can go somewhere else and probably will. Not only that, but this customer will probably tell their friends about their experience. The customer may also post about the experience on social media. The customer might even leave a negative review which is not something that any business should want to happen. The best answer to give would be to ask what specifically they did not like about the service and if they will allow us the opportunity to fix the issue. This response shows that the groomer truly cares about the customer’s experience and wants to try to make it right.
