How does your grooming service work?

We want to make this a pleasant experience for you and your furry friend. We strive to be punctual for all appointments, but please note that this can always be impacted by traffic conditions and other appointments. When our groomer arrives, they will greet you, discuss any special concerns and take your furry friend to our grooming van. Once our service is complete, your furry friend will be returned to you, and our groomer will let you know how everything went and will point out anything concerning.

Yes, please ensure that your furry friend is up to date on vaccinations as Florida law requires. We also recommend the following additional vaccinations:  distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza adenovirus type 2, parvovirus, corona, leptospirosis, and Bordetella before a grooming session.

Why is it important to have a recurring appointment for grooming?

Regular grooming sessions are crucial to ensure your furry friend's coat remains clean, healthy, and free from matting, it also provides our groomers with the opportunity to identify any irregularities, such as bumps or lesions. Additionally, regular grooming enables us to keep your furry friend's nails trimmed and their ears clean, reducing the risk of common infections.

A regular grooming schedule guarantees that your furry friend will always have a spot on a busy schedule which is booked out months in advance.

Will I have the same groomer for every appointment?

If you have a preferred groomer, please let us know when you are booking an appointment. If your preferred groomer is available, we are more than happy to book you with your groomer of choice. Please be aware that with days off and other situations that may arise, your preferred groomer may not always be available. Having a recurring grooming schedule helps to improve the chances of being seen by your preferred groomer.

Do you offer a de-shedding treatment?

Yes, we do. Double-coated dogs such as Huskies, Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, and German Shepherds have two layers of fur—an undercoat and an outer coat. De-shedding can assist your furry friend in several ways:

  • In a warmer climate, an improperly maintained undercoat can trap excess heat making for an uncomfortable experience for your furry friend.
  • Excess fur can cause matting which also makes for an uncomfortable experience.
  • Improves air circulation to your furry friend’s skin.
  • Helps to reduce shedding by removing excess hair.

What if my pet is matted?

Our groomer will notify you of any matted conditions on your furry friend. Matted fur can be very painful for your furry friend. In some cases, de-matting can be performed when it is safe to do so. In severe cases, shaving may need to be performed. There may be an additional fee for extensive/severe matting, and our groomer will discuss this with you.

My pet has sensitive skin, how is that handled?

We understand that our furry friends sometimes have unique challenges. Please let us know about a sensitive skin issue or any other concern that you have before or at the time of your scheduled appointment.

Our groomers have access to hypoallergenic shampoo and fragrance-free options as well.

For certain skin conditions, our groomer may recommend that you consult your vet as grooming may make the situation worse.

Do you express anal glands?

No, not currently. We feel that this is a procedure best performed by a vet.

Do you provide sedatives to keep nervous animals calm?

No, we do not. If your furry friend has been prescribed a sedative for certain situations, please feel free to administer that prior to your scheduled appointment time according to your vet’s recommendation.

What if my pet has fleas?

Please notify us of this prior to your scheduled appointment. We strongly recommend that you seek medical treatment from your vet for any flea or tick infestation. If our groomer finds fleas or ticks on your furry friend, they will notify you of this. We are able to provide a special flea and tick treatment bath for an additional fee. We care about all of our customers and strive to ensure that there is no cross contamination. If fleas or ticks are found, we will need to take our van out of service for the remainder of the day to decontaminate it. This will result in an additional fee. We highly recommend that you treat your home and yard for fleas and ticks to prevent reinfection.
