How do we handle nervous/anxious dogs? First and foremost, we are dog people. We take our time to make sure that your pup is comfortable and not stressed out. If we need to stop and take a break, we will stop and take a break. Pampered Pupz of St. Johns will never rush through an appointment just to stay on a schedule. During an appointment, that client is our only priority. We are often asked how long will it take to groom a particular dog? While there are breed standards that can be adhered to under ideal conditions, the true answer is it depends. We always recommend to allow up to two hours for an appointment for most dogs. Some breeds will just take longer, such as a Standard Poodle needing a poodle cut, for example. While not all appointments will take this long, we don’t ever want to rush our clients and we never will.
