Pampered Pupz of St. Johns takes the health and safety of our clients very seriously. In fact, it’s our top priority. When a dog with fleas enters our mobile grooming van, there is always a possibility that some fleas will spread to other parts of the van before treatment can be completed. These fleas pose a contamination risk to any other pups being brought into the van for grooming. It is for this reason that we always take our van out of service for the remainder of the day and cancel/reschedule any remaining appointments. This ensures that no other clients’ pups get infected. It allows us time to do a flea bombing of the van and then perform a thorough sanitization. Flea bombing is where we set off a flea bomb fogger inside the van and then seal it completely. The fumes penetrate all of the places that fleas could be inside the van and kill them. This process takes hours to complete and cause us to lose hundreds of dollars in appointments. We only charge our client a $25 fee for this service to cover the flea bomb kit and the van cleaning. We never charge for the lost business due to having to cancel other customer appointments.
