This is something that has come up in Pampered Pupz of St. Johns survey responses more than once. The question asked was, “What is one thing we could do to improve your experience?” While teeth brushing sounds like an easy enough service to provide, the reality is a bit of a deception. The teeth brushing that a groomer will do is not on the same level as what you would get from your vet’s office. The procedure performed by a groomer will be very basic and will last until your pup’s next meal. The procedure performed by your vet will be a thorough one that will get under the gums where the tartar buildup is located. The vet is also trained to spot infections and major issues that a groomer is just not qualified to properly diagnose. We believe that we can focus on the things that we do well and allow the vet to focus on the things that they do well.
